I haven't seen any show with this premise before and I wasn't exactly sure how they would execute it in a way that was fulfilling or even entertaining. There are plenty of Asian dramas with the lead falling in love with a ghost but none of those allowed for the two to be physically together at any point. After starting it though, I realized the show was more along the lines of the movie "Warm Bodies" and it made a bit more sense.
I have to admit that I lost a little interest around episode 5-6 because the show focused a lot on what was wrong with Yamada, without actively giving any real answers. I would have preferred if the story focused more on how they were going to navigate the problem going forward instead of why the problem was happening to begin with.
Though, like most Japanese dramas, these two communicate with each other pretty brilliantly once they get past the initial issue of confessing and their relationship is an incredibly healthy one, despite the fact that one of them is dead.
I probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone else unless they're looking for a light watch and have already seen pretty much everything else. Nothing about it truly stood out beyond it being a unique storyline. I have nothing really negative or positive to say. It was wholly mediocre.
6/10
