Roommates of Poonduck 304
I liked this pairing in Kissable Lips, so I was excited to see them in another show together. You don't often see a coupling in multiple dramas like this in Korea.
We have Ji Ho Joon, the son of the rich CEO of Guemman Group, and Seo Jae Yoon who works at the company.
As punishment for Ho Joon's lack of concern for his public image, his father kicked him out and tells him he needs to work to make a living and prove he deserves his place in the company. He sets out to rent an apartment and ends up moving in with Jae Yoon.
I thought incorrectly that this would be another boss moving in, making a no-dating rule, and then breaking it trope like Just You or Be Loved in House: I do and got excited. Then bummed when it wasn't. I love those stories.
Anyway, the two of them start off immediately at odds and it's agreed that Ho Joon is to move out. That is until he receives all the information about the job he'll be given and realizes that Jae Yoon will be working for him.
I love the story and how it plays out. These two have the perfect chemistry, even when they're fighting, and watching their annoyance with each other turn into friendship and then more is really heartwarming.
I especially enjoy how this man who is supposed to be a chaebol is incredibly down to earth and understands exactly what Jae Yoon needs to hear whenever there are disagreements.
Jae Yoon's personal life is a complete mess and I really didn't like his character very much beyond his relationship with Ho Joon which is funny because I usually hate the rich characters in these shows, even the ones who are hidden rich people living like normal people.
This also has one of the most intimate kissing scenes I've seen in a Korean BL so they should get props just for that. It's a little awkward but the actors really went for it.
Also, a side note: Kim Ji Woong is really pretty when he smiles.
8/10
